U.S. Department of Energy LNG Monthly Report for April 2023

The U.S. Department of Energy today released the most recent U.S. government report of data on vessel-borne LNG imports, exports of domestically produced LNG, and re-exports of foreign-sourced LNG. This report includes data from February 2016 to February 2023.

Highlights from the report:
The U.S. exported 326.0 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of natural gas in the form of LNG in February 2023.

3.2% decrease from January 2023

3.0% more than February 2022

Top five countries of destination for US LNG exports in February 2023:

United Kingdom (71.7 Bcf)

France (39.5 Bcf)

Netherlands (39.3 Bcf)

Spain (32.1 Bcf)

South Korea (22.7 Bcf)

The above countries accounted for 63.0% of the total US LNG exports for the month of February 2023.

100 cargos were shipped from U.S. LNG export terminals in February 2023. Sabine Pass (34), Cameron (33), Corpus Christi (18), Cove Point (6), Freeport (6), and Elba Island (3). This is a decrease from the 102 cargos shipped in January 2023 but an increase from the 93 cargos shipped in February 2022.
